Before treatment: 
The patient was born at 24 + weeks of pregnancy, weighed 1.1kg at birth and had no spontaneous breathing. She was treated with a ventilator and a high concentration of oxygen after birth. Her family found no abnormality after discharge, but found abnormal vision at 4 months of age. She was admitted to the local hospital and diagnosed as having "optic neuro-retinopathy of prematurity". No treatment was given after diagnosis. At present she has only light sensation in both eyes. 
She has normal spirit, her sleep, diet, defecation and urination functions are basically normal.

Admission PE: 
Bp: 125/78mmHg, heart rate: 69/min, breathing rate: 18/min, body temperature: 36.6 degrees. The patient has good nutrition, normal physical development and no yellow stains or bleeding spots of the skin or mucosa. She has a symmetrical chest, clear respiratory sounds of both lungs, no dry or moist rales heard, strong heart sounds, regular heart rhythm, no obvious murmur heard of valves, a flat and soft abdomen, no masses and a normal liver and spleen.

Nervous System Examination: 
The patient was alert, had clear speech, normal calculation,  memory and orientation abilities, equal and round pupils that were ivory-white in color but with no reaction to light. The left fundus: dull-yellow, only the border area could be seen due to the cataract with poor blood circulation; right fundus: mainly showing dull-red with orange patches, fundus vessels were not clear due to fibrosis of left vitreous body. The rest of cranial nerve examinations were normal. She has free neck movement, grade 5 muscle power of the 4 limbs, normal muscle tone and tendon reflex of the 4 limbs, normal abdominal reflex, a negative pathological sign and negative meningeal irritation sign.

Treatment:
After the admission she was diagnosed with ROP. She received 3 neural stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells to repair her damaged optic nerves and retina, replace dead nerves and cells, active stem cells in body nourish nerves and retina, improve body environment, regulate her immune system and improve blood circulation. This was combined with rehabilitation training.

Post-treatment:
After 14 days treatment  both of her eyes got more sensitive to light now being able to identify which eye is being shot by light and being able to see moving shadows at a short distance. A month after treatment the patient's eyesight improved further and objects (such as bottles) could be seen at a longer distance. Due to the improvement of her eyesight the range of her activities has significantly expanded, she no longer lived in the dark and she could swim in the swimming pool by herself. She could now see the world more clearly and enjoy life.
