Before treatment:
The patient got a fever at the age of 3 months and the doctor found his eyes were abnormal. He was taken to an ophthalmology department and was diagnosed with optic nerve hypoplasia. He could only see light  but he knows there is something in front of eyes at the distance of 10 cms. He is unable to see colors but doesn’t have diplopia or visual field defects.
His spirit and physical development are normal. His diet, urination and defecation functions are normal.

Admission PE:
Bp: 90/60mmHg, Hr: 117/min, breathing rate: 22/min. Nutrition status is good\ with normal physical development. There is no injury or bleeding spots of his skin and mucosa, no blausucht and no throat congestion. The respiratory sounds in both lungs were clear and  there were no dry or moist rales. The heart beat is powerful with regular cardiac rhythm and with no obvious murmur in the valves. The abdomen was flat and soft with no masses or tenderness. The liver and spleen were normal.

Nervous System Examination:
Patient was alert and had clear speech. He could not complete the orientation and calculation ability exam. Both pupils were equal in size and round with a diameter of 3.0 mm. The direct and indirect reaction to light was clumsy. There was weak light perception ability of both eyes. He could sense the objects in 5-10cm distance with good light condition and then could touch the objects. He could not complete the color vision and eyesight examination. The eyeballs could move freely whilst he could not gaze and he had involuntary ocular bobbing. Bilateral forehead wrinkle and nasolabial fold are symmetrical. Showing the  teeth was normal and he could make his tongue extend as normal. The neck could move freely and muscle tone and muscle power of the 4 limbs were normal.  Abdomen reflex was normal and the 4 limbs tendon reflex were normal. Sucking reflex and palm-jaw reflex were negative. Bilateral Hoffmann sign was negative, the  Rossilimo sign of the arms were negative. The pathological reflex of the legs were negative but sensory examination were normal. He could not complete the coordinate movement examination.

Treatment:
After the admission he received related examinations and was diagnosed with Optic nerve hypoplasia. He received 3 neural stem cell injections and 3 mesenchymal stem cell injections to repair his damaged optic nerves, replace dead nerves with new injected stem cells, nourish nerves, regulate his immune system and improve blood circulation. This was done with rehabilitation training.     

Post-treatment:
After 14 days treatment his light sensation ability improved and he could distinguish objects at a short distance much better. The involuntary ocular bobbing reduced slightly. He now has short eye contact with people.
