Aimene-Muscular dystrophy(Arab) Post on February 23, 2010

Name: Aimene
Sex: Male
Country: Arab
Age: 35
Diagnosis: Muscular dystrophy-Facioscapulohumeral dystrophy
Admission Date: 2009-12-27
Days Admitted to the Hospital: 40

Pre-treatment:
Aimene is Gnana's older brother and has had hereditary myodystrophy for the past 18 years. He contracted the disease earlier than Gnana, and the symptoms were more serious than hers. He was presented with weakness in both upper limbs and mild muscular atrophy, the muscle atrophy of the shoulders and collarbone area was more serious. The disease progressed gradually, and the strength of the upper limbs continued to deteriorate. He was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in 2000. At present the muscle atrophy in the limbs is obvious, the strength of all four limbs had significantly decreased. All four limbs had flexion, extension and overall movement difficulties.

Aimene and his younger sister both have muscular dystrophy. The parents took both of them to a few countries in Europe, including Germany, for treatment, but had no successful results. By chance, the family discovered that stem cell therapy for muscular dystrophy can be very effective. The family contacted some medical centers specializing in stem cell treatment, and eventually decided to come to Wu Stem Cells Medical Center.

There was serious atrophy of the right supraspinatus, infraspinatus and deltoid muscles. There was moderate atrophy of the bilateral iliopsoas, quadriceps femoris and bicep muscles. Aimene was alert and in good spirits, although he lacked facial expression. His memory, calculation and orientation abilities were normal. Both pupils were equal in size, the diameter was 3.0mm, with normal reaction to light stimulus. Both eyeballs had flexible movement. The forehead pattern was symmetrical. He had strong eye closing ability. The bilateral nasolabial sulcus was equal in depth. The tongue was centered in the oral cavity, and the teeth were shown without deflection. He had strong cheek muscles and a strong soft palate. The muscle strength of the fingers of both hands was level 3. The muscle strength of the upper left limb was level 2, the muscle strength of both lower limbs was level 3+, and the muscle strength of both calf muscles was level 2. The muscle tone of all four limbs was almost normal. The tendon reflexes of all four limbs were reduced. The abdominal reflex was normal.

Treatment:

We initially gave Aimene a complete examination. Then we administered the autologous stem cell activation treatment to repair the damage to the neurons. He received treatment to improve the blood circulation in order to increase the blood supply to the damaged nerves and to nourish the neurons, and to enhance the body's resistance. He was also given daily physical rehabilitation training and Chinese traditional medicine to promote the recovery of his motor functioning.

Aimene could feel a noticeable increase in his muscle strength about 2 weeks after the start of the treatment program. He has gained 5 Kg. The range of motion of both limbs and their abduction movement has increased, and the strength and exercise tolerance of the upper right limb has increased. The strength of the muscles of both upper limbs has increased, with the upper left limb showing a more obvious increase in strength. The muscle strength of the lower left limb has increased slightly; the muscle strength of the fingers of both hands is level 3. While first lying on his back, Aimene can sit straight up on the bed by bending his knees and pelvis. He can now complete many more movements than he was able to before being admitted to the hospital.

After the treatment was finished, Aimene's father told us: "I try my best to help my children; I looked for the best possible treatment all over the world. When I found that stem cell treatment offered the best option for this disease, I was very relieved and optimistic. I compared a lot of medical centers and selected yours and I'm very glad that I did. We got good results from the treatment at your medical center. Both Aimene and Gnana continue to take the oral medication as well as participate in their rehabilitation training and we look forward to seeing even more improvements in both of them. We want to thank the entire staff. Thank you for your superb treatment techniques, nursing skills, and kind attention. Happy New Year!"
