Before treatment:
The patient suffered from lung infection 2 years ago and was put into coma. After coming out of the coma, her intelligence became slow. The motor function was lost. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. But she didn't received special treatment. Then the patient motor function was restored slowly. She suffered from speech disorder. She could pronounce, smile and cry to express her emotion. She was unable to understand and exert simple instructions. She turns her head and sit-up slowly. The coordinate of four limbs was poor. She was unable to turn over, crawl, stand, sit, stand or walk.
From the onset of disease, the patient's spirit was good. She took liquid and semi-liquid diets and took 9 times diet. The sleep was normal. She had defecation every 3-4 days. There was no genetic disease in her family.
Admission PE:
BP: 86/48mmHg, Hr: 118-130/min, Br: 23-30/min. Temperature: 36.7 deg. Height: 98cms, weight: 8kgs. Her appetite was good and she eats 9 times each day. She defecated 3-4 times each day. There was no ulcer or congestion in the pharyngeal. She suffered from developmental retardation and the nutrition was poor. Her skin and mucosa were normal, with no yellow stains. Her thorax was symmetrical. The respiratory sounds in both lungs were clear, with no signs of dry or moist rales. Her heartbeat was strong, the rhythm was regular. There was no obvious murmur in the valves. The abdomen was flat and soft, with 6 intestinal type masses in lower middle abdomen and left lower abdomen. The length of masses was about 2cm. The masses was tough and could move. The liver and spleen were not enlarged. There was no malformation in her four limbs and spine.
Nervous System Examination:
The patient was alert. She had a speech disorder and only could make a sound. She could express her feelings through smile or cry. She was unable to perform simple instructions. The diameter of the pupils was 3.5mms. Both eyes were flexible to light stimuli. The forehead wrinkle pattern was symmetrical. The nasolabial sulcus was equal in depth. She turned her head and sit-up slowly. The coordination of four limbs was poor. She was unable to turn over, crawl, sit, stand or walk by herself. She was unable to cooperate with the examination of muscle strength of four limbs. The muscle tone of four limbs was normal. Her abdominal reflexes were normal. The tendon reflex of four limbs was normal. Bilateral pathological reflex was negative. She was unable to cooperate with the examination of deep sensation, shallow sensation or coordination movement examination.
Treatment:
After admission, the patient performed the relevant examinations. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and hyperthyroidism. She received treatment for nerve regeneration and to activate stem cells in the body. She was given treatment to improve the blood circulation in order to increase the blood supply to the damaged nerves and nourishment for the neurons. She also received treatment to boost her immunity. This was combined with daily physical rehabilitation therapy.
Post-treatment:
The patient's heart, lungs and abdomen are normal. The blood pressure, heart rate and breathing are normal. The eating times has reduced to 6-7 times each day. The patient's weight has increased to 9Kg. She defecate once each day. She can pay attention better than before. Both eyes has more concern to objects. The muscle strength of trunk has increased. She has more sit-up actions. Four limbs has more activities. She can turn over to lateral position from supine position. Both hands can grasp toys and play with them. Thyroid function has been restored to normal level.
