Before treatment:
The patient was detected to have intrauterine asphyxia when her mother was 9 months pregnant, so she received cesarean section. But few months later, the patient was found to have hypoevolutism. She had difficulty moving her limbs at the age of 1. She couldn’t stand or turn over her body. The muscle power of her neck was weak. Her parents took her to a rehabilitation training, and she took some drugs to promote the patient’s growth. After half a year of rehabilitation training, she could control her head better and her upper limbs could movement better. She could catch objects with her hands, she could turn over and sit up a while by herself. She could also stand under someone’s help, but the right heel couldn’t touch the ground. She began to speak, but she couldn’t speak clearly, because the tongue muscle was not so good. Her family wanted a better life, so she came to our medical center and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.
Her spirit was good, her diet, sleep, urination and defecation were normal. But her weight and height had retarded physical development.
Admission PE:
Bp: 89/62mmHg, Hr: 120/min, Body temperature: 36.6 degree. Br: 28/min. Height: 86cms, weight: 8.5kgs. She had retarded physical development. The skin and mucosa had no yellow stains or petechia. Her pharyngeal was not congested. She had 20 temporary teeth. There were sounds in her throat. The respiratory sounds in both lungs were clear, with no dry or moist rales. The heart sound was strong. The cardiac rhythm was regular, with no obvious murmur in the valves. The abdomen was flat, the liver and spleen were normal. .
Nervous System Examination:
Almohsin Nora Mohammed N was alert. She could cry and smile. She could understand simple orders, like “open your mouth”, “close your eyes”. She could point to people and objects, like family members, parts of body and light. Both pupils were equal in size and round, the diameter was 3.0mm. Both pupils were sensitive to light stimulus. The eyeballs movement was flexible. There was no nystagmus. She could speak some words, like “papa”, “mama”, she had dysarthria. Her tongue was not flexible. She could chew and eat normally. She could raise her head, turn over her head and she could turn over her body to left better than right. When she sat, she couldn’t control her head better. She could only keep sitting position for awhile. Both upper limbs could catch objects, but she had intentional tremor. Her thumbs had difficult to abduct. Her left upper limb was more flexible than right one. She couldn’t maintained knee position or crawling. She could stand by herself or walk. When she stood up, her heel couldn’t touch the ground very well. The muscle tension of four limbs was a little lower. The tendon reflex was normal. The abdominal reflexes was normal. Right side Babinski sign was positive.
Treatment:
After admission, Almohsin Nora Mohammed N was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The patient received 4 times stems cells and mesenchymal stem cells injection to regenerate new nerve cells, improve the blood circulation, nourish the neurons and fix the nerve network. This was accompanied with physical rehabilitation treatment.
Post-treatment:
After 3 weeks’ treatment, her condition has improved. Her height is 88cm, her weight is 10kg. She can speak clearly. She could sit longer, 15-30 min, and her trunk has become straight than before. Her thumb can abduct better. Her hands is flexible than before, she can hold up objects better. When she stands, her right heel can be on the ground. The muscle tension of four limbs is normal.
