Hyun had a speech disorder, rigidity and weakness in the arms and legs beginning in 2004, with these symptoms gradually progressing. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and received related medications for treatment, with good results. As time passed new symptoms presented themselves including slow starting movements, abnormal posture, unstable walking, general aches and pains, and fatigue. Hyun began receiving stem cell injections every 3 months in 2009, but there were no real improvements in his condition. As the symptoms progressed, he suffered the first lumbar vertebra fracture in 2010 and the pain and weakness was aggravated. When Hyun walked, he took small steps and would lean forward and moved slowly. He could only walk about one hour every day and was eventually bed-ridden. There were no obvious static tremors after he took his medication. Hyun was basically able to take care of himself.

At the time of Hyun's examination of his nervous system, his head leaned forward while standing and there was rigidity throughout his body. He had difficulty with starting his walking motion and was unable to swing his arms when he walked. His walking speed was slow and he found it especially difficult to walk through narrow spaces. The fine motor skills of both hands were poor. The tendon reflexes of the arms and legs were not elicited. The bilateral Hoffmann's sign was negative. The bilateral Babinski's sign was negative. There was normal deep and shallow sensation throughout the body. The bilateral finger-to-nose-test was stable. The rapid rotation test was sensitive. The heel-knee-shin test was stable and accurate. The Romberg's sign was negative.

From the onset of the Parkinson's disease, Hyun maintained a normal diet and there was no remarkable change in his body weight.

Hyun received Parkinson's medication and had the anti-free radicals eliminated. He was also given autologous stem cell activation treatment. This was combined with physical rehabilitation training.

After the completion of the stem cell treatment, the pain in both knees was alleviated and the Parkinson's symptoms were noticeably decreased. Hyun's speech is clearer now. The previously abnormal gait has improved. Hyun can swing his arms freely when he walks and the distance of the strides he takes has increased. He can walk through narrow spaces successfully and is able to begin and stop his movements more quickly. He is able to do actions such as standing up, turning over, sitting up, walking and changing directions faster. The movement of the fingers of both hands is more flexible.

There was bradykinesia in all four limbs. Hyun's body would lean forward when he walked and he had difficulty with starting his movements or turning around. The swinging action of the arms gradually decreased. He had difficulty getting though narrow spaces. The tendon reflexes of all four limbs were not elicited. The bilateral Hoffmann's sign was negative. The bilateral Babinski's sign was negative. The deep, shallow and epicritic sensations were almost normal.
