A 4-year-old girl with ROP V who was blind since birth finally discovers light!
Amna Junaid, a beautiful 4-year-old girl from Pakistan, has unfortunately been living in a dark world due to ROP V since she was born, which has limited her social interactions and learning experiences.
Amna's parents have been quietly exploring various medical treatments for ROP V, hoping to restore their daughter’s vision with their love and dedication. Eventually, they learned about Dr. Wu from Beijing, China, a seasoned expert in neural regeneration medicine with over 40 years of experience. Dr. Wu has made significant contributions to stem cell treatments for ROP V, utilizing his unique, original, and safe stem cell technology, developed over two decades, and his extensive clinical success to help many patients with similar conditions as Amna improve their visual function and quality of life.
As an experienced stem cell treatment specialist with a wealth of medical knowledge and clinical expertise, Dr. Wu was deeply moved by Amna’s situation and her parents' love. After a thorough examination of Amna, he tailored a treatment plan specifically for her.
In just 2 weeks of hospitalization, Amna's visual function began to improve. Her light reflexes, which were absent before treatment, became present, and she progressed from having no light perception to being able to detect light and sometimes locate the light source. During these moments, she eagerly reaches out to touch the light. She also developed a withdrawal reflex to bright lights, which she could not do before. With the continuous repair of her retina through stem cell functions, further improvements are anticipated!
We hope that more patients like Amna will benefit from the advanced stem cell and CAST treatments at Wu Medical Center, which differ from traditional medical approaches, to improve the visual impairments caused by ROP V and enhance their quality of life.
